The Top 4 Trendy Driving Positions, but... They're All Wrong! What's Your Driving Style? AirLumba has gathered the most popular driving postures, but there's a tendency to "harm your back" without us realizing it.

"Today, Let’s AirLumba take everyone to explore our own driving postures before it's too late because back health is crucial for our well-being during car journeys. Take a moment to check and share with us the driving style you prefer. Don't forget to share it with your loved ones too. Let's help each other by checking our driving postures.

1. The Rollercoaster

For those who tend to lean forward and sit upright, constantly adjusting the seat forward. Legs and arms are usually bent into a 'V' shape. This posture is often seen in the beginner individuals, especially women, that worried about the vision on the road. It's also common among beginners who may feel tense, not used to comfortably leaning back, or struggle with finding the right support. If practiced regularly, it's prone to causing various pains: shoulder aches, stiff neck, numb legs, muscle strain leading to lower back pain, and side torso discomfort.

2. The Racer

The racer

This posture is common among those who prefer driving with their arms almost straight or slightly bent, adjusting the seat with significant lumbar support and keeping their legs relatively straight. It resembles the posture of race car drivers. However, what might be overlooked is that sitting this way can create a larger gap in the lower back (Lumbar Spine), forming an unhealthy C-Shape curve. This increased gap leads to more pressure on the spinal discs and can result in a curvature resembling the letter 'C' in the spine.

3 . The MultiTasker

The habitual posture involves sitting upright, with slightly bent arms, engaging in activities while driving such as applying makeup, eating, or placing objects on the dashboard. These activities can distract focus while driving, which can be dangerous and also affect back health.

When practiced regularly, this behavior tends to lead to discomfort such as headaches, eye strain, numb feet, and lower back pain.

4. Mr.Cool

For those who prefer a relaxed driving style, adjust the seat slightly, extend your arms to rest on the window or outside the window, and drive with one hand.

When done regularly, this posture tends to cause discomfort such as arm and shoulder pain due to muscle stiffness from leaning on the window edge. It can also increase the pressure on the lower back and cause back pain.

AirLumba encourages you to check your sitting posture correctly before every journey. Start by tilting the seat angle up slightly and ensuring the right distance between the seat and the steering wheel. Hold the steering wheel at the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock positions with slightly bent arms, avoiding overly tense arms. Keep your back close to the seatback, ensuring your knee level isn't higher than your hip level, distributing the weight to the lower back. Importantly, remind yourself to sit upright and move your posture every 30 minutes to distribute the weight on the spinal discs and prevent long-term pressure.
